Default Need New Batteries - What brand?

My batteries are toast and I need to replace them. The cart charges like normal, and I get a decent reading across all of them after they're charged... but they do not last at all. The cart starts shuddering like it is low on a charge very quickly after hardly any driving.

I've been calling around town this morning comparing prices. They're all pretty close so I thought I'd post up and see what you all would suggest. I've always ready Trojans are very good, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'd imagine good maintainence and care for the batteries is probably more important than the brand, but I'm sure there are batteries that are of higher quality than others.

Trojan - T875 - $140
295 Min @25A, 117 Min @56A, 170Ah @20Amps, 63 lbs

Exide - E4800 - $132
290 Min @25A, 110 Min @56A to 7.0 volts, 63 lbs

Interstate U8VGHCH - $120
345 Min @25Amps, 136 Min @56Amps, 183Ah @20Amps, 69 lbs

The Deka Pro Master battery sounds like it might be a good battery, but I can't find anyone in the 4th largest city in the country that sells them... go figure.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Trojan T-875 is your best choice. We sell them for $125.00 each (with core exchange). That is what you should be paying for them in Texas...

Thanks for the reply, Mike. Wish you were in Houston or I was in DFW.

You don't happen to know of any dealers here in Houston that sells them do you? All I can find via Trojan's site are Continental Battery stores.

Either golf cars of houston or conroe golf cars will help. Continental Battery is the supplier for Trojans.

Sam's batteries are cheap. Plus you need 8 volt and they sell 6 volt. I can't tell you how many people I hear go to Sam's with 8 volt cores and buy 6 volt batteries. Stay with a dealership that will assist you. Don't skimp on batteries - that's your gas tank for the next 6 years!

6 volt was $55 8 volt was $73 priced them last week in Beaumont. The people didn't know what they were buying? That was after my local dealer wanted $150 each.

Sam's uses a garbage battery... Sure they are about half price, but they will last less than half the life of a trojan or exide..

If something is to good to be true?

I'm not going to argue over this - do your thing. Sam's batteries are low quality in my book...
