Default Steering Column Cooler

Hello,

Anyone have any issues with the steering column cooler? Is there a better design out there?

6 vs 12 can - Did anyone go with the 12 can and decided it was just too big or too heavy for the steering column?

Thanks

Tom

Personally, I don't want anything on my column that would have a chance of bending or warping it. Golf carts aren't like regular vehicles that have multiple mounting points. From what I have seen, 9 times out of 10 the column on a golf cart is only mounted at the base.

The better question is if you would be driving on the road and be carrying adult beverages in it?

If so, you might want to check your local laws. Around here, any un opened adult beverage has to be out of reasonable reach of the driver or you can be ticketed for it, weather you have been drinking or not.

Thanks for the tip. You make a good point about the mounting points. I'm in a private club with a secured gate. I won't be running into law enforcement. Same as a standard golf course.

There is another cooler style that hangs off the side of the cart. I may go that route. They are about the same price if I buy used.

Anyone else have an opinion?

my 100 quart fits nicely in the bed behind me but figured that is not what you are asking.. all depends on how many you want to carry and how cold. They make tube coolers that will strap to struts but they lack in cooling. Then there are others that most courses use that mount on the rear sides but be aware, they are pricey if bought new.. I bought a softside one a while back for my actual golf cart that hangs off the front over the cowl. Probably will hold 12 plus ice.. There are many options..

I think I'm going to go with this style but used:

Only thing I'm wondering is if it will work with the addition of the back seat.

I will be picking up my cart tomorrow so I don't know if it will work for sure yet.

back seat kit replaces the roof support posts with a different kind so that space is not there anymore so I think no but wait and see. My cowl mount one is similar to this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Golf-Cart-Ca...b0a4e6&vxp=mtr
