solenoid click then nothing. alltrax/converted from regen 1

hi im new please be patient. 97 club car w/ lester adaptor to convert to regen 2. has a dcx controller from alltrax ( five red flashes says check field). the solenoid clicks then it does nothing. I have never delt with this type of adaptor. Is the regen 1 motor compatible with an updated system? the PQ motor that was in it blew out and i was trying the old motor. any ideas ? do i need a controller. if so what should i get. hope for any kind of help. thanx
