'97 48 Volt CC that Shutters and won't move

I am fairly new to the whole Golf Cart scene so please "be gentle with me" I am the proud owner of a '97 Club Car that I bought used from a relative about a year ago. It had a 6 inch lift kit plus over-sized tires installed along with a "flip seat" on the rear which is very handy around our property out here in the country. Until a few days ago it performed fine, BUT then it began to shutter whenever power was applied or trying to climb the slightest of inclines. I consulted a local Club Car Dealer/repair shop and they advised to check the motor guide bushing,,,and sure enuff the splines had been "stripped out" of the plastic/fiber bushing in the end of the motor. The original was a "bear to remove" but I was able to remove it. I purchased a replacement and now I am ready to install it...
My question (finally) is..Do I need to use some sort of glue/adhesive to secure the bushing in the end of the motor??? The original one was very difficult to remove but the replacement simply slides into place and I can see where it could easily turn inside the shaft of the motor and I would be right back where I started from.
Thanx in advance for any help/advice y'all can offer, the wife and grandkids are really missing their riding time in the "ole Club Car"

There is a little tube of glue that is similar to Super Glue. When you bought the guide ring, they should have known to give you that glue as well.

I would call your supplier back and ask for it.

p.s.---- don't use super glue :-) get the right stuff...

Thanx for the replies Guys...as soon as this set of "nite shifts" is over I will obtain the tube of "stuff" and attempt to get the cart back in service. Thanx again for the timely response!!
