36v club car wont run!!
New batteries, new solenoids.. When i press the pedal..only 4 of the solenoids are making. All connections cleaned and checked. It was intermittently stopping before I changed the solenoids....changed them, took it for a test drive and ok...then it quit. Not sure how to shoot this problem.... can anyone help please, thanks.
Further info, is that when i depress the pedal only 4 solenoids make, and I think the first one ( from the drivers side ) is the one not making. |

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...operative.html
or http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/garag...aster+solenoid or.....Any club car from about 1975 to 1883 had the 5 solenoid system. One solenoid was the master and the other slaves each opened a different speed. |

Re: 36v club car wont run!!
IMO 5 new solenoids is a great way to go for these older carts. You have a 20 yr old cart when 1 starts to go the rest are not far behind. When I swap them all I remove the board and do it on the bench. Seems to reduce the back aches If you still have troubles after swapping all the solenoidds look at the micro switches in the accelerator box at the end of the throttle linkage.

Re: 36v club car wont run!!
Thats exactly how I did it ....I took the solenoid assembly out and put it on the bench and replaced them all with club car equipment. It ran for the road test but like I mentioned it quit, just like it was doing before I changed them. By the way this cart is an 83', but I re-sprayed and clear coated it, and re-upolstered it...so its in nice shape.. Ive owned it for about 5 years... 1st time for a major problem. One question I have and this may be a repeat.....when depressing the pedal...slowly.... I only hear the 4 clicks.... does the 1st and 2nd solenoid make at the same time? I will check the and see if I can find the micro sw off of the pedal....cant seem to find that... but im looking. tks agn....

Re: 36v club car wont run!!
Well the saga is complete..... I replaced the "brand (out of the bag) new" #1 solenoid with one of the originals and away she went.... go figure. Think I'll call Club Car and whine... I should have been suspicious when I bought them, as this one had some scratches on it and looked as if it had been installed at one time.. Thanks for all the help, appreciated it. Kudos from sunny southern Alberta. bill

Re: 36v club car wont run!!
Glad u figured it out, #1 is the master, if doesn't make contact the cart won't go.
The microswitches for those solenoids are located in a small silver box under the driver's seat. The gas peddle linkage connects to the bottom of it |
