Default 2006 Presedent speed (I am new to the golf carts)

I recently bought a 2006 presedent IQ, with a Jakes 6in lift and 23x10.5x12 tires. Its also its a 48volts. I have read that the speed setting 1 goes about 8 or 9 mph. My cart via GPS goes 9 with the over size tires on a full charge. That seems slow for the over size tires. I have not yet taken it to the dealer for a reprogram, I would like it to run faster, like many many others. I figured at setting 1 with the larger tires it would run about 13 to 15. Am I wrong to think this? With this set up on setting 3 what should it run? Thanks for any and all input.

I have an 2002 DS. It has a Jakes lift and similar tires (not sure the exact size.) I do have a 700 amp motor, all else is similar to yours. My GPS, on a full charge, has the cart at 19.5 MPH. I say get it re-programed and enjoy the extra speed.

. . . might have a speed sensor problem. . . controller defaults to a "safe" speed of about 8-9mph when speed sensor craps out . . .

I just got off the phone with my club car dealer here, NOT very helpful. they just want me to bring it in for repair. Plus he daid its $100 to change the settings period. I have read on here that its free untill you want to change to setting 4. I think I will find a different dealer to go to..
Thanks for the input, I will check the speed sensor.

Just a question, if the buzzer is unplugged in the dash, will this make any difference to the speed or any other function of the cart? Thanks again.

I changed the speed sensor, and shes off and running. GPS shows 19 to 20 on flat ground.. up hill 17 and down small grade 21. Much better. I don't know what speed setting its on though. Any ideas?

. . . glad it was easy fix . . . stock cart with speed code 4 usually brings in about 19 mph . . . with your tires, you may be running a speed code 3, but I'm not positive . . . wait for Tahoe/ScottyB/Shadowman to chime in . . .
