Default charger question

so I have a question for everyone about chargers.
I am a club car kinda guy without a doubt but i got some yamaha's in a good trade and one of them dosnt have a charger. my question is does it matter what kind of charger is used between difffrent brands as long as the connectors match up? i just dont feel like spending a few hundred bucks for this new charger. thanks everyone!

Shadowman is right as usual, all the 36v carts have interchangable chargers. A problem exists with the 48v club car, the charger has no control board and the cart has an on-board computer..... You would think okay well at least the charger will be cheap? But noooooooo ...
