Precedent runs for 5 sec then cuts off

My buddy has a precedent. golf cart has a full charge and new batteries but will run for abt 5 sec and just quit, all lights and reverse noise is there but no drive.
Any ideas?

. . . start with basics . . look for loose/dirty cable connections . . .

Put an EZGO sticker on it !!!

Just kiddin'... Does the motor have a speed sensor? Sounds like something is heating up then cooling down...

After the 5sec run does it run again? Like mentioned, check all wires on batteries, motor, F/R switch. Make sure all battery cables are in good shape with no bad crimps. This could be a MCOR problem but need more info on how it acts. Can you post voltage of each battery?

does the solenoid click when you press the go pedal down?if not its stuck,smack it with a screwdriver handle and see if that works,mine did the same thing it would moove about 20 feet then stop,then nothing,if i waited about 10 mins and try to go again it would go 20 feet and stop,no clicks from solenoid,smacked it a few times and it works,only had to do this once, it still works,......hope this helps
