48v conversion parts.
I have found a 1997 cc ds 48v cart for sale locally but I am wanting to build a streetbike powered cart, so my question is what would the complete 48v electrical system be worth to sell someone as a complete conversion or even piece by piece. Thank you. Can't wait to get started on a cart but I'm on a budget so just trying to plan ahead a little.

Re: 48v conversion parts.
I read with some interest your post. I have a 1996 cc 48 volt and experiencing some electrical problems. I would be interested in the electrical bits you speak of. Controller, OBC, speed control resistor assembly etc. I am in Australia but happy to pay shipping if parts costs are reasonable.

Re: 48v conversion parts.
I don't want to rain on anybody's parade but, The beauty of a 48v conversion is the lack of on-board computers and the use of high amperage controllers to give that boosted performance.....
These stock components are more suited for repairs than upgrades.... The slowest cart I ever owned was a 96 48v stock cart with it's 225 amp controller. |

Re: 48v conversion parts.
Yeah I have been reading on here for a while. I was just thinking if the 48v stuff was worth enough I could get the cart practically free and do a solid axle like rifter because the way I play I don't think the cart rear will hold up. But if I decide reverse is important I will definitely be looking for a 4 stroke gas cart. Any other tips that you can think of would be appreciated.

Re: 48v conversion parts.
my observation from both reading about and building hotrod golf carts is you will get more use and seat time out a stock cart....... but sometimes the fun is in the build and a few memorable rides.... which is why I have a big gasser and a big Electric cart sitting outside the shop but I jump on a stock cart to run to the neighbors house...... Enjoy.

Re: 48v conversion parts.
Yes I love wrenching on anything with wheels and a motor. Or adding them to something that didn't come with them . I had been messing with one seater karts/buggies but wanted a two seater to take to swap meets, car shows, bike rallies.
