Charging problems 48v CC DS
I have a 95 CC DS. I plugged it in the other day and did not kick in to charge. So I called the dude at the golf cart dealer and he helped a little but didn't want to talk to much (wants me to come throw down cash). I told him my story and he seemed to think it was my OBC. So I built a jumper that bypassed the relay in my charger and sure enough the charger started pumping juice to the batts. This method works, but I have to watch the batts close and there is NO float charging. What can I do to help this minus buying a new OBC that will kick the charger on and off? I found a replacement OBC at Buggies Unlimited for under $300, but I don't really have that kind of money. Is there a float charger out there that I can use to maintain my batts when not in use? I'm thinking use my charger to charge but then hook up the float to maintain it? Or is there something better?

Re: Charging problems 48v CC DS
check with a sponsor thinking would be cheeper buggies is high dollar as they like their stuff way to much. Thinking could be had for about 200. Or put charger on a timer.
Not sure this is it but would call to make sure here is two. Would fix so would work as designed. http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-144...-computer.aspx http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-144...-computer.aspx |

Holy cow. I don't know how I would know which one I need. With my luck it would be the $330 one. I didn't think about putting it on a timer. How long would you let it charge per setting to act as a float charger?

I'm really thinking abut the timer bit. How long should I set it to charge everyday? 15 min, 30 min?

Re: Charging problems 48v CC DS
golfcart batteries need to charge a lot longer than 30 minuts at a time....do that and your gonna ruin your batteries .....it may be wiser to just buy the OBC its a whole lot cheaper then batteries.....................................
