Exclamation 2006 CC DS/IQ - Major Upgrades, NO Speed! HELP!

So, MAJOR upgrades done...new wires, new DCX500 controller, D&D 5202 Motor, 23" tires. Field map previously set to 6, was only getting 61% throttle position.

Took Scottyb's advice & tightened slip near rod & field map now set to 57. Getting 100% throttle, BUT NO SPEED!!

I was told that my "bushings" were bad & that I should install high speed gearing.

Does anyone have a clue what the problems/solutions may be?

Motor you have is the high torque motor, it is not meant to make speed just gobs of torque....

Sure I can. I need lots more info to make a good recommendation.

1. What make and year cart is it you are asking about?
2. What type of use; like; campground, hunting, neighborhood?
3. How many people will ride on it?
4. Flat, mild, or hilly terrain?
5. Soft or firm footing? Mud, sand, or streets ?
6. What size tires?
7. How fast do you want the cart to go?

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help! Info as follows:
1. 2006 Club Car DS/IQ
2. mostly neighborhood
3. 4 at most, but typically only 1 or 2
4. mild - more speed bumps than hills
5. firm - streets
6. 23"
7. ideally 30-35 as planning to get registered for street use

If by " no speed" its only going a few mph then id guess there is a problem besides the wrong motor choice. How fast is no speed?

I went with a d&d ES 81-41 and with my alltrax 4865 and stock tires ,0 gauge wires etc etc I'm getting 28.6 mph. And the speed calc says with 23s it will do 37.5!! I absolutely love that motor!

Default IT'S FIXED YAY!!! Re: 2006 CC DS/IQ - Major Upgrades, NO Speed! HELP!

So, instead of going a new motor, and thus much more expensive, route...we decided to install high speed gears. WOW!!!! Got it up to 35mph today!! YAY!!!
