Default 1998 CC question.

1998 Club car had issue with car not running, thought it was the solenoid....not! turned out to be bad motor, relaced it and started running. Question is, when replacing the solenoid, I misplaced the resistor that was "jumped" across the solenoid, what is this for? Seems to run fine with out it. Thanks

Default Re: 1998 CC question.

It is a pre-charge resistor. It's purpose is to protect the controller from damage caused by sudden large inputs of amperage. Like what happens each time you press the gas peddle.
You need to replace for the longevity of the controller. Use 470 ohms for 48v.

And welcome to bgw
