Default Alltrax DCX/Precedent wiring question

Alltrax has a wiring diagram on their website titled DCX to Club Car IQ/Precedent/i2, for shunt (separately excited) wound motors. The diagram shows the speed sensor connection coming off of the motor and dangling in space, with a notation that says "speed sensor not used". This is the first time I've seen this notation. So on my '07 CC Precedent with the Alltrax DCX 500A controller and PQ Bandit motor, I should not have connected the speed sensor wiring harness?

probably should check with bandit. I would assume the bandit has the speed sensor which i believe the controller needs to tell (among other things) which way the motor is turning so you cant force it in reverse while moving forward

I called Alltrax today. According to them it doesn't matter if you have the speed sensor connected or not, their controller doesn't use it. In theory, disconnecting it should have no effect.
