Well, your post # 26 seems to indicate that your big problems are solved. Good work! Keep an eye on that battery, and replace it when funds allow.

As to the F/R switch, if you're talking about the wires to the 3 microswitches, those are supposed to be small. They merely allow power to the solenoid activation circuit(along with the key switch and microswitch in pedal), turn on the reverse buzzer, and activate the half-speed in reverse.

What I'm talking about are the large wires down where you can't see in that photo, on the lower half of the switch.

Are those wires (most likely 6 gauge) in good shape? No corrosion on the terminals? Is the plastic melted where the copper buttons swivel? They are supposed to pivot, don't be concerned about that.

Ah, i know what you're talking about now.
Last i saw, they seemed to be in good shape. Not a fan of the size of the wiring there, and that'll likely get an upgrade soon as well. I was primarily concerned about the wires between the batteries due to the corrosion and wear that i saw. There were also mismatched clamps among other things. It's all 4guage and the proper terminals between the batteries now :)
