Default club car 90's

I have an early 90's 36v electric club cart. when I push the gas pedal down it has to be in just the right spot. In the middle for the cart to go. If I push it to the floor the cart stops if I don't depress it enough then it won't go. Please any help would be great.

Welcome to the forum ELAZOB..................

It sounds like your accelerator control..... but more information will be needed on your cart.

Go to where the floor mat meets the back of the the dash. There will be a plate or decal that starts with a letter. We need to know the numbers.

We need to know if it a resistor coil and V-glide type system. I believe it is. Resistor coils will be mounted behind the batteries under a heat shield? V- glide in a black pie shaped box attached to the frame, under the drivers seat.

It sounds to me like not all of your speeds are working. The cart should have four speeds, ranges, or gears if you will, working in seamless transition from start to full speed (wot). Does it feel like maybe some of the speeds are not working?

It seems to go ok on the flats boggy up hills or inclines and reverse is also boggy can't back up on a hill. once I push pedal past point of about half way it stops I have to keep it in the sweet spot so to speak.

When it has cooled down, check the coils for breaks. CAUTION. The coils get glowing hot at times ( prolonged slow speeds) and one or more may have a break in them? They may 'look' fine, you need to inspect them thuroughly
