89 electric club car won't go
89 electric club car the other day I pulled out my garage and when pushed petal it went but as i pushed it all the way down it quit. now will not do anything in forward or reverse. I tested all the batteries and they all are good, I jumped the solenoid and it worked, so I changed the solenoid and to no change. when i put it in forward i get 38 volts on one big post then in reverse i get 38 volts on the other big post. only other thing that I'm not sure of is the red wire going from the f/r switch to the motor it has no voltage coming from it at any time.
any help is appreciated |

Re: 89 electric club car won't go
5 solenoid cart correct? if you jumped solenoid and it worked then i would think its the microswitch in the silver box......by front left battery on frame rail theres a silver box with red end caps and inside is stacked 5 microswitches, 1 for each solenoid.....thats the only other thing in the system if cart ran with master solenoid jumped.......be careful with the hardware for the box like the bolts and nuts they are small and flimsey and easy to lose..............................

Re: 89 electric club car won't go
this cart only has one solenoid and no silver box. it has what i think is a v-glide and i get voltage out of it what seems normal but the solenoid having power on only one large post at a time is what is got me troubled and then not sure what post on the forward/reverse switch should be and when. the part on the f/r switch that turns is got voltage but there is a red cable that is on the pasenger side that goes to the motor and i get no voltage out of it at anytime.

NICE job of providing clear pic WCpriest It sounds to me that the solenoid is not closing. I assume you can not hear it click when you press the gas. There is a micro switch (MS) to check on the F&R and another in the V glide, see if these are working? |

Re: 89 electric club car won't go
when i tested the micro-switch on the v-glide the probe hit both terminals and the cart moved is that a good indicator that the micro-switch is bad
