Default Upgrade from 36V to 48V. Still 6 batteries?

I have a 1991 Club Car DS that I converted to an Alltrax Controller and PB-6. I am thinking about the 48V upgrade. This may be a dumb question, but what is the norm as far as batteries? I would like to use (6) 8Volt batteries.

LMK what you think!

6 Eight volt batteries are good, better than 4 X 12.

I will probably go the (6) 8V battery route, then add a 12V battery for a separate power source for a light kit.
