Stupid question or just a thought? On my 03 DS Series Club Car there is a capacitor that is on top of the solenoid and my understanding is that it feeds a little juice to the controller? I guess the idea is that when you step on the throttle its not that flood of juice/amps?

Isn't that a diode that prevents the back flow of electricity from damaging the controller?

Simply put.
The resistor on the large terminals is precharging the mosfets in the controller so they don't take such a big hit when you stomp on the gas. This protects the controller.
And the diode on the small posts is arresting fly back voltage created when the coil disengages. This protects the Solenoid.

I have installed a few of these controllers. They tend to "expose" a MCOR that already had small issues at lower power. When you throw more power to the cart, it amplifies the issue. In most cases when I replaced the MCOR, the jerkiness disappeared. One other time it was a motor issue....that's another long story not worth going into. Yet still another time it was the customers "flip flops"....lol...again, another long story not worth going into.

Completely agree, MCORs show their faults with Alltrax, I believe it is because the Alltrax is more sensitive, everything you describe is MCOR related. Mine did the same thing on my DS, and I have seen this with 4 other carts.

Sorry, I have to call bull shi*, this is not an MCOR issue, it is a combination of bigger motor and bigger controller, go ahead and throw money at an MCOR but it will not fix it.....................
...............But if by some chance it does let us know

I understand but are you saying your cart had no jerkiness whatsoever and was as smooth as the stock setup? And if so can you share with us the controller settings you used?

Yes I am... Smoothness can be accomplished by the speed settings and for what is worth, all carts I have had this problem with have been Club Cars running 500 and 600 amp controllers with high speed & high torque motors. So call BS if you want but everything he has tried has not worked and everything he has described is typical of a crappy MCOR. I guess we'll just have to wait on his verdict.
