Default 97 CC DS Series Power Cutting Out Randomly

Here is the rundown on my cart.

- 1997 Club Car DS 48V - Lifted
- Trojan T-875's (2 yrs old, teasted regulerly, no bad cells)
- 4 gauge wires all around
- Upgraded F/R switch
- Upgraded Solenoid
- GE "Beast" Motor
- 700 amp Speed Controller
- MCOR Conversion

I've got two problems but I think that they are related in some way. But then again maybe not...

First problem. This has been happening for as long as I can remember. When you stomp on the peddle from a dead stop the cart larches like it's gonna take your head off then just cuts out. If you let off the peddle and press it again (not full throttle) the solenoid clicks and the cart works fine. If you press the peddle from a dead stop to any other point other than full throttle it works fine and accelerates fine. If you are slowing rolling and slam the peddle down to full throttle it works fine. It only cuts out when you slam the peddle down to full throttle from a dead stop. Could this just be something overloading which is causing the cut out? If so which component would cause this and why?

Second problem. I have just noticed recently that sometimes during acceleration the cart just cuts out. If you let off the peddle and press it again the solenoid clicks and the power kicks back in and the cart runs as it should. I have not been able to pinpoint any relation to this with a certain speed, peddle position, or load b/c it is totally random when it does happen. My 2 year old daughter loves to go splashing in mud puddles after it rains (which I have to admit I kinda enjoy doing myself) and I'm thinking that doing this may have screwed up the MCOR but I thought that they were more or less waterproof as long as they were submerged in water.

Neither of these things make the cart unusable by any means. We still ride it almost everyday. It has just been driving me crazy for a while now that I can't figure out what is causing these two things to happen. I also don't want these to escalate into something that cause us to be stranded one day while riding.

Any help or guidance that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. If there is any info that is needed that I may have left out just ask.

My cart originally had a pot but it starting acting up so I replaced it with an m-cor. My cart is a series cart so there is no speed sensor.

His first problem sounds like the HPD function (AKA High Pedal Detect) is working properly to prevent full throttle starting from standing. The second part sounds like the rash of MCOR problems we have been seeing for the last 2 months at the golf course where I work. Gene Davis

With this being a 97 series cart does it even have the HPD Function (High Pedal Detect)? This is the first I have heard of this. And if so how do I disable it? This issue that I'm having seems to be getting worse and happening more often. I'm planning on replacing the MCOR to try to correct some of it but I really think that something else is causing the cut out on hard acceleration. Could the solenoid be going bad? Or my controller be over loading (it is a 700amp controller so it should be able to handle the load)? If so how can I test either or both of these things? And if it is this HPD function can someone tell me how to disable it?
