What gauge wire should I get to replace this one?

Same size. Take that one to the hardware or auto supply store. Just make sure you get the same type ( and number of strands) in the wire. Not that you have to count them!? Just do not replace a 100 strand wire (DC) with a 20 strand wire (AC) of the same size?

Just as a flollowup, the wire from the solenoid and the resistor coils attach to each other at the V-Glide. At some point I must have had a major issue as both wires were burnt off and the vglide had a huge hole in it where the bolt from the arm attached. Needless to say, I ended up replacing the cables and the V glide.

Thanks again to Shadowman, Roady and Scotty B. I figure you guys saved me over $170 in cost for the repair shop to pick this cart up and fix it.

Changing out the V-glide is no small task. Again, congrats on fixing it yourself.
