Default testing motor on cart

I have a club car 04 ds, recently told it's an IQ because of model # AQ0421-396425. I want to check the motor on it. Before I put anymore money into the cart. Some say use separate battery and connect S1 to A2, connect 12 v pos to S2 and 12 v neg to A1. Will this work on a IQ motor? I was told because of motor controller being different on IQs this won't work. If not how do I check motor. The Curtis speed controller needs to be replaced, because the resistor was burning up. Told this is a tell-tale sign that speed controller is bad. Is this true also?

To test a Sepex motor jumper A1 to S1 and A2 to S2 take a 12/24v power source with + to A1/S1 and - to A2/S2 to change direction switch around S1 and S2
If the resistor is the one on the solenoid then it could be the solenoids contactors are pitted or have carbon build up creating resistance (heat) and high current is being directed thru the resistor.

Went this weekend to check motor. Good news I have continuity on the motor. I still want to see the wheels turn as in the test with the 12 volt battery, but the test calls for S1 and S2. I have F1 and F2. Tried it anyway and nothing happened. Is there a way to test my motor? It is a Club car motor.

Also, received my new MCOR, was told not to install it, because motor controller may be bad, and it may fry new MCOR. I get bits and pieces about testing controller, something about -b and -m, not sure what this means. I want to test controller before purchasing a new one. I do have the Iq cart and it has a curtis controller in it.

I have a 2005 Club Car IQ with stock motor and stock curtis controller that I just took off that works perfectly fine that I am willing to sell. Let me know. I just upgraded mine due to a lift and bigger tires.

Some motors are marked F1 and F2 and some S1 and S2 its all the same. If you connected the motor as explained and it does not turn then you have a motor issue.
