Advice on a purchase of first cart
I am looking at picking up a CC 1998 DC 48V (Not sure regen 1 or 2) but it has regen for label on it. It needs batteries and otherwise runs fine. I am trading about 900 bucks worth of Honda scooters for it.
I will be using the cart at my campground on gravel roads. Looking more for back seat and hauling people to pool and around campground. Occasional use on grass areas around ponds etc... I don't mind working on a cart, but I want something that I can easily upgrade and repair with minimal cost, and I am worried the Regen is taboo? I have attached some pics here and would like opinions. With batteries I guess I will have 1500 in it considering value of traded items. Wondering if that is too much for a starting point on this cart? Lifting and larger tires a no-no on this type of cart? Pics of cart to help you give an educated opinion....lol well I have a link if you go to franklipski.com but it won't let me post links since I am new here. it is on front page of my site though in a post called golf cart. Thanks |

Re: Advice on a purchase of first cart
ok now this is just my experience with reagan carts over the last 12 years and the 1998 may be the toughtest of the bunch..........stay away from it look at anything thats not reagan, try and find out what controller it has if its the silver one than thats a plus but if its the black T shape run away.........i,m sorry i don,t need to look at pics cause as far as a reagan pretty means nothing.................if your not filmilar with 48 volt elec. carts and you want to do your own work a reagan is the last cart you want to try and learn.......theres more but that being said when they run right they are a fast good running cart....but its a 98 and that makes it 14 to 15 years old and parts are hard to find, if its the 98 with the black Tshape controller they only made that cart for 2 years and just that controller is 700 + and unlike most carts where lots of things are interchangable well thata a crapshoot with that cart........ok i,m done but if you can i would advise you to look for another cart.......just my opinion......................................
