Melted wire between the charger and battery
The red wire has melted between the charger and the battery.
The wire was resting on a battery cable, you can see in the photo that the insulation on the battery cable melted a bit also. What caused this melting? What can I do to prevent it? thanks |

Re: Melted wire between the charger and battery
I think the cause was a dirty (bad) connection at the battery. Looks like you a new end on the main cable as well. IF the wire continues to get hot, it may need replacing or the charger may not be backing down in output as it should which may be caused by a bad battery. So lots of things to check related to amp draw and cable & battery condition.

Re: Melted wire between the charger and battery
I cut out the melted part and re routed the battery cable. It's stayed cool for testing. I'll clean up and test the batteries.
thanks |
