Sudden Death to my 1997 DS

A friend of mine comes over and starts to help me while im cleaning my 97 DS. He noticed there was a little corrosion on the positive post and offers to clean it. I needed to make a store run and left him on his own (BIG MISTAKE). When i get back he had sprayed a corrosion cleaner to all the batteries and washed it off with water from a container. I was in shock. To this day i have always cleaned my batteries with a rag, contact cleaner and air from a compressor. I rushed to air dry the batteries and spray some terminal protector to prevent futher corrosin build up. But he then starts to spray the battery terminal protector to the solenoid and the F/R switch. After all this i bolted the positive terminal back turn the switch on and it would not move, I can hear the micro switch,and the solenoid but nothing. Battery pack 54V. I tested the solenoid voltage and with the pedal pressed i get 54V across the terminals. Can a solenoid or micro switch be bad even though they click? What can be the problem?

So bottom line wet electronics dont work. Could something have shorted out?

Weird when ever I check the water in batteries I always rinse them off with the hose I don't point it directly at electrical components but they do get wet never had any issues are you sure your not forgetting any wires?

when my wires get wet in wont work in reverse, really wet it wont go if f or r

A friend and I took our carts down to the car wash (1/2 a block drive) I let him spray my cart while spraying his (Both gas powered) I went over to BS with the car wash as I normally due. Next thing I know the carts are being pushed into the sun to dry 2 hours before either will start.

Well tried it again this morning and still nothing. I didnt see any wire i had missed but Im going to check again. I did see a small black case that has a sticker on it that reads DO NOT DIRECT WATER STREAM AT THIS SWITCH. What switch is inside this plastic black box? And could this be what got wet and caused the problem? Can i open this box to check for water with out getting shocked?

he may have got controller wet and that could take days to dry............................
