Default four 12 volt batteries instead of six 8 volt

Has anyone tempted to remove the six 8 volt batteries and replace them
with four 12 volt batteries instead? If so, how well did they work? I assume they don't hold there charge as long. But, is it that noticeable. Besides, four 12 volt deep cell batteries is allot cheaper then six 8 volt batteries. has anyone did this, and please tell me how it work or not worked.

It won't work as well as the 8 volts. You can't 'beat' the system - you'll need to replace with golf cart batteries...

In the long run it will cost MORE money to buy 12 volt batteries than it would to buy the right ones the first time. Not saying it won't work but they won't hold up as long as golf cart batteries and run times are severely reduced.

My Precedent came with 4 Trojan 12Vs, and I have a friend who also has that set-up. Is Club Car just "cutting Costs"?

Those batteries are not the same as the ones the OP is talking about. Club Car uses a true deep cycle battery designed for a golf car not a hybrid deep cycle battery such as a 12 volt marine battery.

ok, I tried 4 (12 volt) marine batteries and the charge only lasted about 8 minutes. Maybe 4 minutes.

you were right, you can't beat the system. I'm saving my money for trojan.
