2006 Club Car 48V with Gel Paks - Quick discharge???
I have a 2006 Club Car 4 seater that I bought from a guy who owns a battery/tire store. He put new batteries in it (12V gel AlphacellGel 180 GXLs... still under warranty) before he sold it to me. It seemed to run ok at first. I would charge overnight and take kids riding the next day. It seemed to slow down (a lot!) at about 5-6 miles, and it has gradually gotten worse. I took it back to his shop and they tested all 4 batteries, all testing out fine (sorry, don't know test result numbers ). Yesterday I drove it exactly 2.2 miles and had to help up the driveway by pushing! Shouldn't I be getting 20 miles per charge? Charger comes on and shuts off after several hours. Start speed is great after chaging (18-20 MPH). What should I check first? Thanks for ANY feedback? BTW, I don't have test equipment...maybe I should start with a local repair shop???

Ggggggrrrr! The guy touted these as the TOTL battries and very expensive. Guess I got screwed and will be buying new batteries. Thanks for the feedback!

Those are the type batteries we use in our battery backup systems here at work as stated above they are not for Golf Carts I did run some in my old Melex cart since I got them for free from work but the range they would go was nothing compaired to my new pds cart with Trogen 105's.

Something similar happened to me. I bought my '07 CC with new batteries. They were deep cycle marine batteries. They lasted about 8 months after I bought the cart. Luckily, I got a pretty good deal on the cart and didn't get hurt to bad. I wish I had started reading BGW before I bought the cart rather than after.
