Default Anyone else run into this?

Ok my brother has run into charginging trouble several times on his 97 48v this summer at the trailer park we are in, I fixed his bad conections and cleaned the terminals. Still not charging found that wipping the cable going through the OBC it the charges, we have tar and chipped roads and have lots of dust. Just find it odd that this needs wiped to get it to charge.

Replacing OBC to eliminate that as the trouble have one lying around so lending to him. Thinking it is the trouble.

Question, Not having the newer technology I have't run into this buit if I understand it, the OBC is monitoring current going through the sensor, Right? If so, maybe repositioning and securing the cable so it isn't moving around too much might help. Can you post a picture so I can see how far off base I am? Thanks, Randy

Will post but the new obc is in, thinking that the sensor might be the trouble and if weak the new OBC will fix. Some dirt might not be a problem but being any dirt is this is why I'm thinking this. Was the original OBC many trouble with these.

from 1995 to 1997 they had a ton of issues with the OBC than from 1997 to 1999 they redid the OBC,s like 3 times i think before they got it right........any cart with an OBC and a red dash battery light is the original...........if you notice when you buy a new OBC for a 95 to 97 they give you a new orange battery dash light and a new grey wire for the charge receptical in the cart thats because aftyer everything else with the OBC the grey wire would crod in the receptical and sometimes it wasn,t the OBC that was bad but if you pulled that grey wire it would come out.........was a real mess..............i was putting in 12 to 16 of them ( OBC,s ) a season at the campground but beleive it or not there are still quite a few running around with the 1st version and working just fine............but 9 out of 10 crapped out.........thats also why in 98 you couldn,t do the bypass on them like the earlier years........by the way the new orange dash light is so they can just lay the diagnostic tool over the light and get any codes or info ...................

Tom that is one reason I put the new one in. The one I took out had a 97 year product coad on it, as it also had a nut on back side that said neg bat voltage on it, and a round bump out on the oppsite side. I had had issues on the wifes cart also a 97 and it had a new OBC put in last winter by the guy who rebuilt the it, that he put in backwards which is why I had one lying around. I have learned more on this system in a few months than most. Checking the charger this morning it is down to 2 amps and topping the batteries off.
