Battery cap's turning brown
Hi. 48volt
I have a CC Precedent 2010 with new Trojan 875 batteries and it runs just fine, but l noticed that on one side of the battery ( white) caps there looks like A brown stain but only on one side. The stain is only 1" long. By the way l never had to add any distiller water . Is this normal? Also l have had this cart for 5 wks and have been only driving it for maybe an hour every day but as told l hook it up every night. The CC dealer told me to run it down to 50% and then charge for the brake in period for the first 10-12 times. Guessing that l get maybe 28 miles to a charge then l will try to log 14 miles before charging which can take almost a week. How does the above sound? Thanks Alan |

Re: Battery cap's turning brown
Is it just on one side of the battery pack? Might be rust from staples holding seat cover.

I believe the dealer is incorrect. Keep charging when you are through for the day as you have been. For battery break in I refer you to here: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Batter...n_Methods.html

Re: Battery cap's turning brown
Hi
The brown is only on one small 1" section on 4 of the 6 batteries. I will try cleaning it unless there is an acid issue. Thanks |

After reading the article I will drive approx 5 to 8 miles before l charge it at the beginning, is that correct? The information l mentioned earlier came from an above sticky from this site. Alan |

Re: Battery cap's turning brown
Alan, your best friend would be to install a battery meter. The one that Scotty sells is the best, IMO.

My CC has the amber meter but until my bumper to bumper warranty is over l am not going to change a thing. When it is over then let the games begin. Alan |

Re: Battery cap's turning brown
. . . are you referring to the Battery Warning Light? If so, you will want to keep that in addition to Scotty's digital meter . . . that amber meter works with OBC for charging issues, flashing code sequences . . . it also can be "read" with a scanner as a diagnostic tool . . .
