Default Battery Question

I have (2) club car Precedents. One is a 2007 and one is a 2009. I am having problems with the batteries charged life. Both buggies sit in an uncooled garage all summer in South Texas while we are in Wisconsin. This year I disconnected all wires from the batteries and put both in tow mode, both were fully charged when we left in late April. I check system voltage, battery voltage and cell SG once a month. When we returned many of the cells had water levels below the tops of the plates. I filled all cells and charged the batteries. For the first 2 weeks both buggies ran well. Now I have issues. Cart 1 can't reach full speed and accelerates very slowly. Cart 2 seems to perform well but the orange charge light is on most of the time. My system voltage on cart 1 is 49.0 after charge. One battery has a voltage of 10.6v and one cell has an SG of 1.000. The batteries in this cart all have an 8 stamped on the neg. post and a letter of E or L or unreadable. Cart 2 has a system voltage of 48 after charge. One battery has a voltage of 11.62v with one cell SG reading 1.000. One battery has voltage reading of 10.43 with one cell SG reading of 1.100. These batteries are all stamped C 8 on the neg. post. All other voltages and SG readings are normal. All batteries are Trojans.

1. Does the number stamp mean these batteries were built in 2008?

2. Are these batteries at the end of their life?

3. Should the batteries be prepared differently for the summer?

4. Could I take all the batteries with good readings and put them in one cart
and replace the batteries in the other?

Thanks for the info. I have another question. Could I just replace the 3 bad batteries with 3 cheap ones, say from Sam's Club, and hope they all die at the same time? Or even 3 used ones if I can find any?

I've read here many times that only the rich can afford cheap batteries. A walmart (or Sams) marine battery isn't the same as a true traction (deep cycle) battery.
