1997 48 volt Clubcar Wont go

I have a 1997 Eletric 48 volt clubcar it wont go when you turn the key on it clicks. Pressing the gas it will click and motor will hum I've checked all power it has 48-50 volts going to the motor when gas is pressed. I also checked the solonoid and one is normaly open and the other stays closed is this normal? The golf cart sat for a year before now and worked great when it was parked.

if solenoid is clicking and motor is humming......test batteries .....load test batteries even batteries that hold voltage can and do fail under load and thats what this sounds like......it only takes 1 to fail and cause that............................

How do I test them like that do I press the gas and test the batteries or check them one by one? I have checked them one by one and all them read 8 Volts. Please give a example on how to check the batteries. Thanks

Simply connect the meter to the pack where you read 50v. Press the gas and observe the reading when you try to go. Post that lower reading here....

I just checked it. Not pressing gas it reads 48-50 volts. Pressing the gas it reads the same nothing happens on the metter. I am also concerned about the solenoids one of them opens and closes when the key is turned on (without pressing the gas and while pressing the gas) and the other does nothing it stays closed

Whats my next step? Volts are checking out good. Im getting 48-50 Volts to the motor. Is the motor bad?

if voltage isn,t changing when you hit pedal i would think theres something wrong there as your putting a load on them and voltage should drop and then come back up.......have you checked all cables going to motor? .....how about controller? was anything done to cart pryer to this or did it happen out of the blue? or it just sat there...........i would look at wiring going to controller make sure all are still intact, same thing at motor, and at F&R switch.........i would also load test each battery by itself and check every cell with a hydrometer........this sounds like your not getting the power to drive cart and if your using meter correct battery voltage should drop when a load is put on them.....................................

It sounds like the solenoids are working correctly... You may have a regen I or Regen II system. The second solenoid would not close until you decelerated. (let off the gas).
Test the controller out put.
Key on, cart in gear, one rear wheel off the ground...
Put the tester on M- and B- (any order) and observe the voltage as you press the gas & the solenoid clicks. Just as the solenoid clicks you should read the same 50v as the pack voltage.... continue to press the gas down and you should see that # drop to near 0.
If yes the controller is working and the trouble is in the high amperage delivery system.
