What is this stuff on my motor?
The brushes were toast on my 1990 CC 36v and when I was replacing them I saw this on the motor. Any ideas?

If it looks like it belongs there, it might be for balance.

Re: What is this stuff on my motor?
I wasn't sure if it was part of the old brushes that fell on the motor and stuck there. I lost continuity on my "A" posts and when I opened the motor, one pair of brushes were brittle and crumbling. Wasn't sure if this glob on the motor was normal or not.
