Default Reattaching double sand bottle bracket

2009 Club Car Precedent.
I have a double sand bottle holder attached to the back left of the cart. I also have a ball washer on the back right. These accessories attach to the Structural Assembly Module (SAM) via a factory installed insert/screw.
The other day I noted that the sand bucket bracket was loose. I discovered that one of the two screws fell out. I figured it was just a simple...find a matching screw, install, and move on. Not so fast....
I was able to find a close replacement ( M6-1.00x25 ) The actual screw has a hex head with a collar. It is probably about 0.75, but the extra length would not have been a problem.
I started installing the screw and noted a lot of resistance. I went back to the remaining original and it too would not screw in easily. Try as I might I could not get the screw back in, and it was virtually impossible to remove it again. It turns out that the insert is one of those types that expand when you install the screw. I was finally able to get the insert out, but not after damaging the SAM a bit. I finally determined that I would have to remove the SAM and come up with way to fix the problem. Removing the SAM is not too difficult ( it would be a lot easier had I completely removed the canopy ) but my Sunbrella enclosure did complicate the task. I used some oversize washers, a screw, and a nylon locking nut to reattach the sand bucket bracket.
I have no idea how the original screw was able to fall out, but should that happen to you just plan on removing the SAM to take out the old insert and put in a replacement or just use a screw, washer and lock nut.
I mentioned the ball washer simply because on my cart the attachment is the same as the sand bottles.
If it happens again I'll probably just buy a new SAM !
