Yes you are doing it correctly but it sounds like your probes are not touching the wires. If you cant do it from the controller harness try it directly from the throttle sensor. Find where the yellow and white wires plug in and put the leads on those posts. The only bad part about doing it this way is that its very hard to hold the leads off the meter very still and that will affect the reading. Also do you have the speed sensor connected or disconnected? The Alltrax instructions say you dont need the sensor connected anymore however I could not get any power to the motor without that harness connected.

Yea keep the speed sensor connected as before.

Also, I really cannot tell you if you can have that striped wire on that side or not. I can only tell you that I rehooked up every single wire in the cart exactly as it was prior to my upgrades.

Maybe if you posted some pictures of your install like the controller terminals and other connections we will see something. You have that black pig tail wire hooked up to b- right?

The solenoid has no polarity.

All the wires on the solenoid are positive except for 1, that one is the blue with a white stripe wire coming from controller pin #12 according to the diagram. See post #30.

It might help if you simply remove the diode for the rest of the tests. I think the diode should be bench tested with the meter on the current ohm setting you should have continuity one way across it and no continuity when you swap ends with your test leads. It may have failed from being connected backwards.
Also it would help if you put your test leads together and give us a base reading for continuity. Keep you hands off of the bare metal test leads for continuity & ohms readings.

Which black pig tail wire are you reffering to?

On the diagram from post #30 the diode has a symbol that has a triangle pointing towards a perpindicular line. what is the direction of this symbol, for example is the triangle pointing towards the direction of flow or against it? I Have the silver band on the diode pointing towrds the battery side so should the light blue wire be on the same side as the silver band on the diode?

Remember the dangling red wire that was supposed to be hooked to the positive side of the solenoid? There is also a black one that I think hooks to b- on controller, just wondering if you had that hooked up?

'there is no battery side' per say.... What I'm saying is the solenoid posts are interchangeable ... There is no right and wrong post for the + activation. IT ONLY MATTERS THAT THE DIODE BAND IS TOWARDS THE + ACTIVATION WIRE> that wire is the solid blue according to the diagram in post 30. Move the wire = you must move the diode to follow it...

The solenoid has no + and - side. Take the diode off for now and sort out what ever problem exists, then we can put the diode on afterwards IF it tests good.

Yea the smaller black wire that goes to the back of the OBC is what I think you are talking about I hooked it back up to B-

Attached are two pictures of the diode test I tested it both ways.

It looks like it is okay, leave it off until you finish testing...

5 pages sheesh!? Where are we at.... what's been verified good, what works, what doesn't.
