Default 95 CC main solenoid engagement?

I'm trying to help a friend out with a recently purchased 48v club car. He said it was running but two of the batteries were bad (cracked) so he replaced the whole set. Now, it doesn't do anything. I have found that the main solenoid isn't being engaged. No ground applied on the bl/wht wire from z4 position of the controller. I have bypassed the OBC (test 13) but the solenoid still doesn't engage. I jumpered the ground side (bl/wt) wire of the solenoid to ground and the solenoid works but the motor doesn't run. I did find the red wire fuse blown. I installed a fused jumper wire but there is still no engagement of the main solenoid. If I didn't overlook something in the testing procedures- I've determined it will need the controller. Could there be anything I missed? Where is a good place to get the controller? Also there is a button on the floor near the dimmer switch. What is that for?
thanks for any help,

it makes no sense that just the batteries were changed and now it needs a controller........what year? and is there 1 or 2 solenoids? are you certain that the batteries were hooked back up right?..............................

I'm not sure if a 95 has one... but, the tow/run switch on my 98 messed with my head a number of times in the "tow" position!

The 95 was a series cart. Your friend must have connected something wrong to blow that one fuse. He may have blown the micro switch in the V-glide too.

There is probably more to the story than i'm getting but by following the diagnostics in the manual I'm coming down to the controller. I have ensured correct battery installation and voltage. This system has two solenoids. One is the main solenoid and the other is the dynamic braking solenoid. I'm just not getting a ground signal from the controller to engage the main solenoid. By what I understand, if I bypass the OBC by grounding the female end of the yellow wire at the controller it should allow the main solenoid to be engaged (eliminate lockout). BUT even when I jumper the (Z4) bl/wht wire to ground and engage the solenoid manually there is still no motor movement.

It has 2 solenoids. The dyn. braking solenoid is engaged as soon as the key is turned on but the main solenoid is never engaged.

I don't think they had dynamic brake solenoids in 1995 but your description of it leads me to believe it is working correctly.

You must get the main solenoid to activate (close) when you press the peddle.

You can bypass the solenoid activation circuit by applying + and - to the small solenoid terminals. You should hear it click.

You can bypass the solenoid by locating both big solenoid cables on one of the big solenoid posts.

Do all of this testing with the rear wheels off the floor.

serial number A9545 47318 the controller is black T shaped one I have bypassed the activation circuit by grounding the bl/wht wire. The solenoid activates but there is still no movement.
