Default Best 48v DC motor for speed, acceleration, smoothness

After installing 6, 8 volt gel batteries, I recently upgraded my stock 48 volt '04 CC IQ to an Alltrax DCX 600 controller with heavy duty solenoid, diode etc, along with 2 gauge Scotty B cables throughout. I was hoping the advertised claims of 24 mph and "lifting the front tires off the ground on asphalt" would be accurate, and not that they weren't, after replacing the MCORE which helped a lot, it'll chirp the tires and top out right at 20 mph. I was told by my dealer that this is probably due to wear on the motor. What I want more than anything is enough acceleration to get sideways on wet asphalt or gravel. If I can achieve that and 25 mph or more on level ground through a new, high performance motor, I want to do it but it's imperative that I can still crawl at super slow speeds (like in large crowds of people) in a very smooth and controllable manner. I've read on here that this has been a significant problem with alltrax controllers and high performance motors, like the purple ones. Any suggestions and personal experiences with this type of setup and/or any ideas to improve performance with the stock motor would really be appreciated, thanks.

Default Re: Best 48v DC motor for speed, acceleration, smoothness

I have a DCX 500 and had some major jerkiness but after replacing MCOR it runs perfect with a high performance motor (geD1163). Runs at 25 mph on stock size tires. With new mCOR I can go slow and smooth.

Also the controller needs to be programmed with the proper map and I am using Inductive and set to 3 or 4 on throttle up rate.

BTW, gel bats are not meant for golf carts, you are probably going to find that out soon.
