Default 02 DS IQ Cutting Out at Full Speed Going Down a Hill

I have a 02 Club Car 48 volt with new batteries. It will be running full throttle and then cuts out and starts beeping. I repress the throttle and it will start running again until a few minutes later the same thing happens again. Ive noticed this occuring going down hills.

Sounds like your speed sensor is going bad...
Someone should come along and confirm or deny this

I did the speed sensor test but it worked. While the speed sensor is starting to go bad could it still pass the test?

I guess it could still pass...

It may be your F&R switch because when you are driving forward and flip the switch to reverse or neutral, it will stop the cart and make a beeping noise until it stops completely. Maybe try that while you are driving to check that feature.

It acts like the power is shut off. Only happened so far going down hills at full throttle. Hasnt started doing this until just recently.

If it is beeping when it does this, it really makes me think its the sensor, because it is supposed to make sure the cart is:
A. Not moving when you change directions with FR switch
B. Not moving after you come to a complete stop without pressing the accelerator (run away)

If a or b happens, the cart will stop and emit a beep beep until it is stopped. For some reason it seems like your cart thinks the FR switch has been flipped for a split second. That is why I am leaning towards the speed sensor.

. . . if all else seems normal with cart and the only time it slows down is going down a hill with foot off of GO pedal, I think everything is normal . . . from the CC Manual"

"• Pedal Up Motor Braking: When vehicle speed is above 11 mph (17.7 km/h), releasing the accelerator
pedal will activate motor braking, which slows the vehicle speed. Once vehicle speed slows to below
approximately 11 mph (17.7 km/h), with the accelerator pedal still released, motor braking will be deactivated
and the vehicle will coast freely. This feature is selectable. Contact your Club Car dealer/distributor
to inquire about this selectable feature"

Going down a hill my cart will shut off and fully stop with the foot still ON the go pedal. It just shuts off for no reason. It hasnt been too much of a nuisance around the house, only when you hit the open road.

That is definitely not normal behavior- there is definitely a problem. Since the speed sensor test passed, it is beyond me...

102355201 - Main Dropout Harness - IQ.... Order one of these... Lots of early IQ cars would dropout for no apparent reason. This will correct it. It's a simple inline diode that snaps in behind the tow/run switch.
