Winter Storage and Run/Tow
I put my club car precedent up for the winter in my father in laws garage on saturday, i plugged in the charger after driving it over there, switched the run tow to tow and then the charger clicked on.
Later that day (about 3 hours later) I went back to chalk the tires and noticed my metter flickering off and on. I do not recall ever seeing that before, when i have turned off the run tow the digital read went black. Today i checked it, the charger is finished, i flipped the run/tow to run and the meter flipped on and read the pack at 51.1. I then flipped the run tow back to tow, meter went dark. Was talking to my FIL, walked back out and the meter was flickering again. The meter is connected to the factory meter wires in the dash. My question is do you think this is anything to worry about? I dont think it will affect the meter will it? Thanks Dave |

. . . by "factory meter", are you referring to the amber battery indicator light? |

Re: Winter Storage and Run/Tow
Hey Steve
My meter is a digital meter from Scotty. It it connected to the two spare wires in the dash that the factory would use for a factory SOC meter. I am not referring to the amber battery light. Thanks Dave |

Re: Winter Storage and Run/Tow
The draw from the meter is measured in single digit mil-amps. This very small draw would be un -noticed by the battery pack. So it would not hurt to leave the meter on all winter and use it to monitor the natural losses from the idle pack.
My question is this, does CC recommend that you put the cart in TOW mode when not in use? If not, then you could leave the cart in RUN & the meter on. My concern would be some damage or wear might occur to the meter from being cycled on/off rapidly for several months. |

Re: Winter Storage and Run/Tow
. . . or wire meter to cold side of keyswitch so meter only comes on when key is in the ON mode . . .
