With the steering wheel squeak figured out, I finally got a chance this afternoon to drill a couple of secondary holes for the rear roof struts to help control movement and squeaking there.

From one bolt and mounting hole:

To two bolts and mounting holes on each rear strut:

Not sure if there is a down side to the second bolt but will find out I guess. Next I need to focus on the front alignment again and on playing with the tires some more. I'm getting closer though.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!

I don't think that there would be any downside to a second bolt on each side. It will anchor the top and provide better support and less flex.

Hey man. How's the cart coming?

Call me crazy but I just ordered another set of rims and tires today. I talked to the folks at Jakes yesterday about the lift and the outcome of the conversation was that they suspect my current tires and indicated that they prefer Sahara classic tires.

This was interesting since my last set of smooth all terrains were Sahara classic tires. They said now that everything is made over seas the only set they have had good luck with have been Sahara classic.

Not sure if they were blowing smoke or it but I ordered a set with STI rims from another vendor and confirmed a return policy if the re bumpy. Should get them late next week. Will report back with either a tire return or a set of EFX tires/wheels listed for sale. LOL

Hey tx,

I just checked my tires.

They are Sahara Classic, 4ply rated, 36lbs to seat them to the rims, then a recommended tire pressure of 5lbs. I am running 8lbs and they seem OK so far, but I haven't put more than a few runs around the block to check things out.

Also, these tires are directional, so make sure yours are oriented properly.

Will do when I get them. I'm getting tired out from the bumpy issue.

Thus far, I bought cart with standard 18" tires
Put on 3" jakes spindle lift with 20x10x10 sahara classic
2.5 years later when front tires bald, I ordered 20x10x10 Carlisle all tread
Those tires had issues and the replaced them under warranty
I returned replacements and ordered set of EFX blades on fairway alloy wheels
They exchanged 3 tires under warranty

That rings me current with still bumpy ride
So today ordered another set of STI HD2se wheels with 22x11-10 excel Sahara classic tires
PLEASE SAY A little PRAYER for smooth tires this time.

Just for fun, here are the 3 different incarnations my cart has experienced since first buying in 2010:

As acquired - 2004 Club Car Villager IQ

After a few months - added jakes 3" spindle lift, 400amp Alltrax, 20" tires, 10" rims, seat belts, street lighting kit

And now 2 years later - changed to jakes 4" double a-arm lift, 22" tires, 10" rims, folding rear seat, new front windshield and strut, new top, 500amp Alltrax, plum quick motor! New style front seat cushions

While I wait for yet one more set of tires/wheels to show up Wednesday, thought I would share some progress pictures:

THANK THE LORD!

I finally have the ride I used to have before starting this fiasco. New tires/wheels showed up today and they are much, much better riding for my on road use. Oddly enough they are a lot smaller than the others though. Others will be going in the for sale section shortly.

New on the left (sit wheel / sahara classic tire) and the replaced on the right (fairway allow wheel / EFX Blade tire) - Both are 22x11x10

Only sad thing is I really liked the way the other wheels looked better, but oh well. Beggars can't be choosers. LOL :)
