Now starting with final stuff. Stereo, dash, bumpers etc. back bumper will need to be drilled out to fit, dash needs to manipulated to fit properly, cut rectangular hole for voltmeter while keeping within 1/16 inch tolerances... Fit under dash stereo mount to fit body front metal contours, figure how to get wiring to respective areas without cutting excessive holes, mount front speakers and run wiring, holy smokes! Things are about to slow down dramatically.... pics to follow someone tell me that it all gets better...

Cut hole for and mounted voltmeter. not perfect, but acceptable. Mounted new key system that is individual for this vehicle only, mounted rocker switch for lights that replaces boring stock pull switch, mounted aux 12 volt power point plug, and wired all for ease of of install after dash is mounted. The voltmeter, light switch, and future stereo lighting will all have blue backlighting. Temporarily taped into place under dash stereo mount for fitting and customization to dash area.

A large bottle of Excedrin might do the trick.... Amazed that so many "bolt on" parts have turned out to be "bolt on after major modifications" parts instead. But I guess that is both the joy and pain of it. Figuring out how to get things to work and be somewhat aesthetic is very rewarding when they work out. This has been quite the process thus far, and this forum has been invaluable to me as a newbie. Will just keep moving forward like a turtle with 2 bad knees. Definately will be easier to get all wiring run without the front cowl mounted so kinda glad it has taken this long to get painted.

This weekend got the dash and speakers mounted, as well as the steering wheel. Also managed to get everything hooked up and operating. Amazing!
No reason to mention how many times things had to be taken apart and then remounted with modifications....whoops! Just did.... despite trying to think ahead and anticipate how things will work out, this Frankenstein's monster continues to own me...

Picture of steering wheel mounted.looks great with rear body cowl. would love to get front cowl mounted, but had it shipped back and it is total crap. holes that should not be in it as well as a paint job that looks as if it was done outside by an infant. Metal shavings, foreign material imbedded in paint as well as dents, dings, and scrapes that are so obvious that they just can not be glossed over or hidden. I have contacted the company and let them know that they need to fix the situation right now or I will have the credit card company cancel
the sale altogether . Once I get a reply I will then decide whether or not to inform the folks of this forum how to avoid doing business with this company. Bummer! :thumbdown
