Cheapest way to add lights?

What do you think is the cheapest way to add lights to my 48V Club Car DS? I don't need to do the stock style headlights and taillights...I put a brush guard on my cart so I could mount to that.

I've seen some cheap LED lights on ebay that say like 12V-60V applications. Wondering if anybody has used those directly wired to the cart batteries?

I also was thinking maybe some type of battery (pref. rechargeable) power headlamps?

My other thought is I have a few jetski/lawn mower batteries laying around, maybe I could power lights with that as an aux battery?

I am trying to avoid a $90 reducer just to have lights...If I do that, I'll probably just buy one of the stock style light kits on ebay.

The cheapest way would be a set of spotlights that include a switch such as

a set of tail lights such as

a switch and a fuse. Wire everything in series and wire across the battery pack. Should set you back $23.
The disadvantage is that if one bulb blows they all go out but you said cheapest not best.

Yup, definitely looking for cheapest and I should add easiest. Just not sure if I want to cut into the body and install the normal light kit and all that right now; I might do it eventually. I don't really care about tail lights right now either, not using this cart in an area with traffic and I have orange reflective material on the back of my canopy.

Those driving lights run off 12V though. I guess I should have added that I'm not willing to wire anything directly to just one battery; which is why I mentioned an auxiliary battery or something. Unless you're saying there's some other way to do it across the battery packs that draws off all evenly?

That's funny you just posted that though, last night I ran down to our lake lot and also drove around the neighborhood with my dog running along side...and I just held a LED flashlight in my hand out the side of the cart!

That about as cheap and as easy as I can imagine, plus the top bar of my brush guard is about the same diameter as a bike handlebar.

I will be using these only while I'm plowing in the dark and running back and forth to the lake lot around the corner. I'm not going to be doing any off roading...yet

Shoot, those same bike ones are only $7 at wal-mart. I think that's a done deal, seems like the easiest way to have some light before I make a decision on adding the real light kit and reducer to my cart! Looks like there's even some similar tail lights for cheap. Thanks Stevegrmich, I think your "idea" made the spark lol!

That is what I said. Wire them in series and place them across the battery pack.

It's been a while since I've even thought about circuits...are you saying that if I wire them in series it will only be 12V? So basically go from battery1 + to light1 -, light1 + to light2 -, then light2 + to battery4 - ?

Close but no.. I believe Dave was thinking 4 12 volt lights in series. 2 head lights, 2 tail lights and yes it would start with battery pack + to + first light then - first light to + second light to - to + 3rd to - to + 4th to - on the battery back. String in series with a fuse and a switch. The down side is if you lose a bulb, they all go out.
