Default What Motor do I Have?? I want to install magnet

Hey guys. I almost bought a speed magnet for my 08 Club Car electric. All the listings for these magnets state it ONLY fits on an ADC motor. I punched in my make and model of my motor and its says its an AMD.

I'm confused! Does anybody know if the speed magnet will work on my motor? Is there a supplier that might sell a magnet for my motor? Thanks guys..

Sticker on my motor: part # 102705001 Model # EJ4-4001

What kind of cart do you have? Is it an IQ? If so, I would just max out speed code for 20 mph...

. . . how does the speed sensor mount on the back of the motor? If speed sensor has 2 screws mounting it to the back of the motor, a speed magnet will work . . . I believe your model motor has this capability . . .AMD makes the replacement motor for your model now . . . the GE motors had a different speed sensor setup, I believe . . .

It should work if it is an IQ type. If an Excel, not sure. There are threads that discuss the issue on this CC electric Forum, with input from T/Dog. From memory I understood that the 2008 Excel controllers did not have the software to enable Excel braking to be turned off, (which may allow the speed magnet to work). If you can ID the Serial No of the cart, the CC guru's may be off assistance.

That is the advance motor and the magnet should work fine, make sure speed sensor has 2 screws, just to be sure.

Thanks guys! Yeah the online store i ordered it from said it will absolutely work. I do have an IQ model. I'm very new to the golf cart world. Hopeing to get 3 more miles per hour. Seems cheaper than to trailer the cart to the closest CC dealer.
