Default Bought a used Precedent

Hey guys I hope everbody had a good Christmas. I found a used Precedent on Craigs list and I paid $700 for it, did I get a good deal? It has 2 new Trojan batteries and it runs. The guy said it would run better if the other 2 were replaced. I drove it a 1/4 mile and it seemed to run ok, the batt light did come on though but I don't know if its charged. The serial number is
PQ0444-454524 so it's an 2004. I don't much about these carts but I will prob need new batts for my 2003 DS in a year or so. My thought was to clean up and see if I can make enough for the other carts batts? My wife looked at and asked if this is a good price?

Thanks for any input..
Steve

I think as long as everything is working on the cart I would spit shine it and get it all looking good and throw it up for sale and should be able to double your money at least I would think..Others will chime in that know more than I but I think you got a great deal...

I think the batts may be toast, he said he bought 2 news ones. The 2 Trojan rear batts are stamped D2, 2012? and the 2 front black that say club car on them are stamped C7 2007? My DS batts either way are 4 yrs old and are good. I could always do the 6 8 volt conversion on the Precedent then sale the cart that way cleaned up. I dont want to put much $ in the Precedent. I just took it for a spin and it got up 12mph on the flat, but when I ran it around the block it would barely make it home. But I don't know if its charged yet. Boy the cart is tight and it turns on a dime. It doesn't make all the noise my DS does. Maybe I need to sell the DS and put that money in the newer Precedent and build it?

D2 should be a 2012 battery and the others are 2007s. Tell the wife I said you got a horrible deal and you should sell it to me I need another one.

That's always a option too sell the DS and mod the Precedent to the way you want it if you like the Precedent better do it!! I love my Precedent and have enjoyed working on it as I just love the look of the Precedent.. Either way I wish you luck

Yes, I think you got a pretty good deal. The 2 new Trojans are April 2012. I would put 2 new 12v Trojans in to replace the older batts and balance the pack. The cart is an 04 which is the first year for the Precedent. If you clean it up and upgrade it to speed code 4 for $100, you will have a great quick cart!

Wow like always theres alot of great guys and info on this site. The seats are seperated from the plastic but I'm going to rewrap them, I found a video on you tube were a guy staples the new seat cover to the plastic frame, I don't want to mess with the glue.

So what does it mean, now that I own 2 golf carts?
