2002 DS wont charge
Hello everyone,
I have a 2002 DS that is our workhorse here on the farm. It hauls hunters around this place all year and is very important to the operation..especially for the older folks who can't walk as well as the rest of the group. We had a foot of fluffy snow last week and it came in pretty handy getting the guys around chasing pheasants. At the end of the day I plugged it in and headed for the house just like I always do. Im sure the underside of it was pretty snowy. In the morning I found that the charger was still charging and the orange light was on in the dash of the cart. I thought that odd since it should have charged overnight like it always does. The brake was also frozen down (not sure if that really is important). I checked all the connections and plug-ins from the breaker box in the building all the way to the cart. Still couldn't get the charger to turn on. I have another group of older gentlemen coming Friday morning and am looking for some pointers. Where does a guy start? There is a lot of knowledge here on this site. Hope someone can take the time to help me get this figured out. Should I first start with resetting the OBC? Thanks to everyone in advance! Tony |

Re: 2002 DS wont charge
Check the voltage on the battery pack. If it gets below a certain point, the charger won't come on. If you have another charger, try that also.

Re: 2002 DS wont charge
It could be the OBC (try a reset), if that's not it, it is probably the rectifier, relay, or breaker in the charger. You can buy a $20 kit on eBay to replace those three parts. My cart was acting like yours and it turned out is was my charger.
