Default 96 ds 36v overhaul???

I run a small engine repair shop and have worked on several gas and electric golf carts, small stuff, nothing I would call major.

With that being said I was offered a 96 DS 36v club car that is in great looking shape. The downfall to this cart is the electric motor has been removed as well as the batteries. It has the wiper slide (v-glide) for the accelerator, the speed resistor wire coils, and the F/R switch, but I don't know if any of these work or not.
I would like to fix it up and put some bigger tires on it, so I am pretty sure things would need to upgraded to HD rather than stock.

Here is the question
I deal mostly with NIVEL when getting parts and I was wanting to know if I could buy an upgraded electrical system for the cart without breaking the bank.(package system, electric motor, F/R switch, accelerator mechanism, etc)

Resistor to solid state is not the cheapest fix for this cart but, it is the best fix.

Scottyb sells most, if not all, of the parts that you need to do a complete conversion. He also includes nice wiring diagrams to make it easier.

His accelerator linkage conversion has been very well designed and tested by many forum members, including me. There are many threads that explain how to do the conversion from resistor to controller.

I would think that the hardest thing to find is going to be a 36V motor. They are worth their weight in gold to cart builders!

You can get some ideas of what it takes by checking out my thread:

I hope that this helps!
