Default Cheap and Easy Gun Rack

Wanted to share an idea I had for a cheap and simple gun rack I made this weekend. I took a scrap piece of 1/2 inch metal tubing and cut it the width of my windshield. I bought two new windshield mount bolts a 1/2 inch longer, drilled holes in the metal tubing, and mounted the pipe to the inside of the front roof supports. I bought a set of Kolpin single gun ATV mounts from cabelas for $20 bucks and bolted them to the pipe and painted the pipe with black spray paint. It works great and looks good too for a little over $20. Just wanted to share the idea for any hunters out there looking to save some money.

Looks good. I wanted a double one and the dash on the DS is flat, unlike your precedent, and I just bolted a couple pieces of aluminum angle to the dash frame. I'm contemplating getting the Big Sky Rack from cabellas and attaching it under the top. I've had it in a couple trucks and love it.

The front rack I built this way because I didn't want to drill more holes in the roof uprights. The back racks were simple but effective. No dust issues on the guns from travel so far with them up high.
