06 Club Car converted to AC electric motor having problems
Bought a 06 Club car a few years ago. It is the XRT750 model which is the DS with a different rear body and dash. I removed the rear body, put a DS rear body and rear seat kit. I have a lift with 23x8x10 on the front and 23x10x10 on the back. Changed the rear drive to the limited slip club car locking rear end.
Next I changed out the DC motor to the Hi Performance (HIPERV) ac electric motor. Had it installed by my local cart dealer. They ac system has not functioned properly from the day it was installed. Three times this deer season I have been stranded in the woods with dead batteries and my led display says I have between 45-50% batteries left but the cart will not move. The cart never goes into limp mode and redcuce the speed it just goes to a crawl. I have six 8 volt trojan T-875 batteries. I just took a reading on all my batteries and they were 8.4 volts and a total 48 volts. The manufacturer of the ac system said i had bad batteries when this first started, so i put in brand new batteries. System still doing the same thing, so the cart dealership i bought the new batteries from gave me another new set of batteries with still the same results. The cart will slow to a crawl and led display says 45-50%, batteries read 8.4 volts and pack shows 48 volts. The last time this happened to me a few days ago i only drove the 3 miles or so on flat ground with a few rolling inclines.
Looking for some help to see why this is happening. I call hipev and they just say i have bad batteries.
