2008 club car precedent battery numbering

I just received a new lighting kit and the diagram of the batteries to number them is different than the way my batteries are installed. need help figuring out which battery is which . my batteries are situated top to bottom
not side to side. i have 4 12 volt batteries. do u start on passenger side numbering? also do u start closet to front or back. so 2&4 are in back & 1&3 are in front or vice versa. thanks

It all depends on how they are connected. They are in series. Find your negative terminal and trace the cables from battery to battery until you get to the positive terminal.
