Default Motor won't run

Hi I am new to this website but it seems great so far, I recently obtained a 96 club car that is 48 volt. I wired 4 12 volt batteries in series to obtain 50 volts when checking pack voltage. I followed a wiring diagram that I found on here but not sure if I wired the solenoid correct. All that said I have 48 volts at motor and motor not turning. Took the motor out and it turns smooth and doesn't smell burnt. the previous owner said the cart ran fine when he had it, he was running it off of the original battery setup. Checked all fuses, connections, any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Do you have the motor, solenoid wired correctly?

What was the original battery setup and what all did you do to the cart? Probably have something wired wrong.

On the solenoid: Check the diode (small fuse looking thing across the two small posts). The band on the diode MUST be on the same side as the + post. If the diode is backwards the cart will not run.

All great things to check but I dropped the motor out the weekend and one of the
Brushes, the spring actually fell off and the brush wasn't plunging, and another brush
Was sticking. So the motor is at the shop getting that fixed. Then ill troubleshoot more
Once that's back in. The batterey setup is now 4 12 volt deep cycle wired in series.
It was originally 8 6 volt I believe. No batteries in cart when I received it.
Will follow up once motor is back in. ThNks

Put motor back in and still not going...I have 50 volt across upper terminals and lower terminals, is this normal? I have:
F1 white. F2 orange
A1 green. A2 white

The only wire I'm getting power on is the green coming from control box, should I also have power on the larger white wire from control box, solenoid is clicking and diode is in place, any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Are they "golf cart" batteries? Is does make a difference, but the motor should at least turn even with regular "deep cycle" batteries with 50 volts. Probably a wiring issue?
