Light kit
Hi everyone I'm fitting my new light kit, just checking on something though.i know my 07 precedent comes pre wired, but does that include the voltage reducer? Or do I need to fit one? I have checked many wiring diagrams but don't see any mention of one. Cheers from down-under.

. . . I believe you have 4 12v batteries? . . . voltage reducer not a standard item . . . included wiring harness is tapped into one of the 12v batteries. . . most people install a 48v-12v reducer for accessories, especially if they plan to use cart at night time a lot with lights . . .

Thanks Steve I thought that maybe the case, as I'm going to run some accessories maybe I should go with the separate isolated battery system so as to keep my battery pack all consistent.

That's what I did and a lot of others also I run all my accessories off my separate battery so don't have to pull any power from my pack.

Hornsta, the OEM light kit for the Precedent should come with the wiring to hook it to the 4th 12v battery. I ran mine like that for a while but was not pleased with the results. The lights would go dim or even out well before the cart would stop going and it put extra load on that one battery, eventually causing charging issues. I ordered a reducer but never installed it - instead I sold it and went with a 12v battery that I mounted in a battery box in the bagwell of the cart. With a little rewiring, I now run my lights and my stereo off of that battery and now I have the opposite problem - my lights and stereo will run well longer than the cart. However, the cart runs plenty long enough for our typical use. I am getting new batteries this spring so it should run even longer, for a while at least.
The cons are it is an extra battery to maintain and charge. But I minimized that issue by hooking one of the quick detachable cables that came with my battery tender to the battery that just dangles outside the box. When I plug the cart in to charge, I just plug the tender into the quick detach. Takes an extra 10 seconds out of my day - big deal! |

Thanks guys and saltlifecc my bag well is full of all things ,,, golf bags lol who would of thought? But I have been toying with the idea of mounting a battery above the motor in the space above, there is a lot of clearance there and at most the axle could move a couple of inches, I wonder if anyone has done this yet? I think a gel battery could even be mounted on its side, the rear access panel can easily be removed to charge.

The following thread has a plug and play 48v-12v club car OEM converter that is simple to install. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...e-reducer.html. TahoedawgZ71 can tell you where to get them and explain how to hook up accessories. Lights are a no brainier since this plugs right into harness. Instructions are simple. If I can hook it up, anyone can!
