Question Non-programable Curtis controller?

I recently purchased an upgrade to my Curtis controller, to a Curtis 1204/410 that has been modified for 400 amps. I installed it but have noticed no difference in operation/torque. Perhaps it is subtle improvement that I don't notice. Thinking/intending to improve performance, I was hoping to have it programed for speed setting "4". However, I now realize there is no programmable connection for this particular version. Am I correct that this one cannot be programed? I see no molex connection, serial connection or USB port. Did I waste my money on an amperage improvement? I guess being a newbie to golf carts is an expensive lesson.

The controller you bought is for a series car. The only Curtis controllers that are programmable are IQ, Excel, and IQ Plus.

Thank you. You would have thought that all the reading I have been doing on here, I would have discerned that. My bad. So, I assume that the only way to speed this thing up a bit, will be to purchase a faster rpm motor.

Thanks again.

Correct. Motor and Controller upgrades are the most common method to upgrading these cars. High speed gears will pick up the speed as well, but will sacrifice torque in the process.
